I have always been interested in a career in Aerospace and so the subjects I chose to study at A Level were physics, maths and economics. Aerospace Engineering is the course I have applied for at university with the hope of becoming a professional pilot or engineer. My determination has stemmed from the lack of females in the sector and, together with the support of the Sixth Form Team, helped me realise my ambition and potential. Not only have I become much more confident in my subjects, but also in personal life.
Joining Foxford Sixth Form in year 12 has been exciting! I am studying art, history and business. Throughout year 10 and 11 I really enjoyed history and art, which helped me decide when it came to choosing my Post 16 subjects. The teachers in all subjects have been very supportive and understanding and the lessons have been very engaging and made me interested in the subjects even more. In particular, I have really enjoyed the research and reading outside of lessons which has further deepened my understanding.
In the Sixth Form I also have enjoyed more freedom with personal learning and some free periods allowing me to focus on specific topics. The smaller class sizes has meant I am able to communicate more with the teachers. The Enrichment days have been challenging but great fun as they were linked to exploring my future after Post 16. I believe that A-Levels and BTEC have been a huge step up compared to GCSEs in terms of workload, however it has definitely been worth it as I enjoy studying fewer subjects but in more depth.
